롤링 스톤스의 곡.
1973년 Sad Day 싱글에 딸려 나와 미국 차트에서 42위에 올랐지만, 본래는 1969년 발매된 Honky-Tonk Women 싱글의 B사이드 곡이다. 그런데 Sad Day와 Honky-Tonk Women보다 더 유명하다 7분짜리의 대곡이고 합창단[1]과 함께한 곡이라 스케일이 엄청나다. 평론가들로부터 "롤링 스톤스 곡들 중 가장 깊이 있다."는 평가를 들었으며 오늘날까지 롤링 스톤스 최고의 곡들 중 하나로 꼽히고 있다. 이름의 유래는 확실하지 않지만 믹 재거가 음료수를 사러 한 가게에 갔다가 원하는 음료수가 없어 시무룩 믹무룩해 하자 옆에 있던 지미 헛메이커라는 사람이 '언제나 네가 원하는걸 가질 순 없어'라고 말했다고 한다.[2]롤링 스톤 선정 500대 명곡에서 101위에 랭크되었다.
