비틀즈 컴필레이션 앨범으로, 1980년 10월 14일 발매되었다. 미국에서는 발매하지 않았다.
앨범 제목에서 알 수 있듯 비틀즈의 발라드 곡만 담았다. 우리나라에서도 발매되었으며, "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)"이 1993년 이전까지 금지곡이었기 때문에 대신 "Girl"을 수록했다. 당시 국내에서 굉장히 인기있는 앨범이었다고 하며, 이 때문에 비틀즈가 발라드 그룹이라는 인식이 강해졌다고 한다. 특히 이 앨범에 비틀즈의 3대 히트곡인 "Yesterday", "Hey Jude", "Let It Be"가 모두 수록되어 있다는 점이 더욱 그런 인식을 갖게 하였다.
영국에서 17위에 올랐으며, 호주에서는 1위까지 올랐다.
이 앨범도 다른 대부분의 컴필레이션 앨범들과 마찬가지로 CD화 되지는 않았다.
