1 프롤로그

ZERG CAMPAIGN: OVERMIND

The Swarms have crushed the meager human resistance and laid waste to nine of the thirteen Terran worlds. Shortly after the fall of the Terran capitol world of Tarsonis, the main Protoss fleet abandoned the Terran Sector. Now, efforts continue on Tarsonis to weed out the remaining Protoss forces.

군단#s-4.5은 인간의 무의미한 저항을 짓밟으며 13군데의 테란 행성 중 9군데를 파괴했다. 테란의 수도 행성인 타소니스가 함락되고, 프로토스 함대는 떠났다. 이제 타소니스에 남아 있는 프로토스의 잔당을 몰아내는 노력이 계속된다.

다고스 : The Hatchery is the heart of any Zerg colony. It spontaneously generates larva, which in turn are used to spawn your various warriors and minions.

다고스 : Now, create a Drone and start gathering resources.

초월체 : I am well pleased Young Cerebrate, and so long as my prize remains intact, I shall remain pleased. Thus, it's life and yours shall be made as one. As it prospers, so shall you. For you are part of the Swarm. If ever your flesh should fail, that flesh chall be made anew. That is my covenant with all Cerebrates.

With the Protoss forces beaten and scattered, the Overmind has withdrawn the Swarms to the remote ash world of Char.

프로토스 병력이 패배하고 흩어지자, 초월체는 군단을 외딴 화산 행성 "차"로 철수시켰다.

초월체 : Behold the power of that which is yet unborn! For the swirling images that flow forth from the Chrysalis are only a shadow of the sleeper's true power.

자스 : Cerebrate, be warned. While Daggoth is occupied with the forces of the Dominion, the emanations of the Chrysalis have called even more of our enemies to Char!

초월체 : Arise, my daughter. Arise... Kerrigan.

케리건 : By your will, father, I live to serve... Let all who oppose the Overmind feel the wrath of the swarm.

초월체 : Well done, Cerebrate! What I have wrought this day shall be the undoing of my enemies! Let not a Terran survive!

레이너 : Mother of God... Kerrigan what have they done to you?

레이너 : Sarah, is that really you?

케리건 : To an extent... I'm far more than I once was, Jim. You shouldn't have come here.

레이너 : But the dreams... I dreamed you were still alive... that somehow... you were calling to me.

케리건 : I was. While I was in the chrysalis, I instinctively reached out to you and Arcturus telepathically. Apparently, Arcturus sent Duke here to reclaim me. But that was then, Jim. I am one of the Zerg, now. And I like what I am. You can't imagine how this feels...

Kerrigan, the newest and most powerful agent of the Overmind, has arisen from her embryonic Chrysalis, but her formidable powers are still not fully functional. Kerrigan must now seek to unravel the Ghost conditioning that keeps her powers in check. Once done, she will lead the Overmind's minions to complete domination over the unsuspecting Protoss.

초월체의 새롭고 강력한 하수인 케리건은 번데기에서 깨어났으나, 그녀의 힘은 아직 완벽하게 각성하지 않았다. 케리건은 이제 그녀의 힘을 제한하고 있는 유령이라는 구속을 풀 방법을 찾으려 한다. 그렇게 되면 대비하지 못한 프로토스와의 전투에서 초월체의 군단을 승리로 이끌 것이다.

케리건 : Cerebrate, you watched over me during my incubation, and I am grateful to you. It is my wish that you continue your vigil, so that I might strengthen my powers to better aid the Swarm.

케리건 : I have been unable to access the totality of my latent powers, and as such, I would like to infiltrate a Terran science vessel and uncover the secrets of their abandoned Ghost projects. If I can learn more about their mental conditioning, I can undo the damage their tinkering scientists have done to my mind.

해병 : See? They ain't so tough. these critters bleed just the anybody else.

케리건 : Cerebrate, I've located the records I sought. We have everything we need here.
(정신체, 기록을 찾았다. 여기 필요한 것들이 다 있군.)

다고스 : Kerrigan, I suggest you leave behind some Hunter Killers to keep the Terran off our trail.
(케리건. 테란의 추적을 피하기 위해 추적 도살자 몇 놈을 두고 가라.)

- Yeah, I got your Zerg right here. Heh heh.(그래, 여기에 저그 따위가 있을 리가.. 헤헤헤)

(맥주 캔을 따는 찰나 사망)

- What the hell was that?(씨..저게 뭐야?)

(그리고 추적 도살자가 몰려온다.)

- Behind you!!(니 뒤에!)

- We're hosed man blow-it...Blow-it!(젠장, 우린 끝났어! 날려버려요... 날려 버리라고요!)

(지휘관이 버튼을 누르자 과학선 "아메리고" 호가 폭파된다.)
아무튼 박살내는 데 성공했으니 된 거 아닌가

9 암흑 기사(The Dark Templar)

케리건 : Do you feel that, Cerebrate? The Protoss are here. On Char. They have been here for some time now... Hiding.
(너도 느껴지나, 정신체? 프로토스가 여기에 있어. 차 행성에 말이지. 몇 시간 동안 여기에 있었어... 숨어서.)

케리건 : Protoss commander, it was folly of you to come here. For I am Kerrigan, and I am Queen of the Zerg!
(프로토스 지휘관. 여기에 오다니, 어리석군. 나는 케리건, 저그의 여왕이다!)

태사다르 : I know of you well, O Queen of the Zerg, for we have met before. I am Tassadar, of the Templar! I remember your selfless exploits, defending humanity from the Zerg. Unfortunate it is, to see that one who was once so honorable and full of life would succumb to the twisted wiles of the Overmind.

다고스 : No. He will not! The Protoss have devised some new attack. An attack powerful enough to nullify our reincarnation and give pause to the Overmind itself!
(아니, 그럴 수 없다! 프로토스가 새로운 방법을 발견했다. 그 공격은 우리의 재생을 무효화하고 초월체마저도 일시적으로 마비시킬 정도다.)

케리건 : So, Tassadar's plan was merely a diversion. I should not have underestimated him so.
(그래, 태사다르의 계획이 그거였나. 그를 과소평가하는 게 아니었어.)

다고스 : Without its master, Zasz's Brood has run amok and even now threatens the Hive Cluster. Cerebrate, you must eradicate the rampaging Brood and stern any further damage it might cause. I shall deal with the Protoss myself.

For the Protoss who murdered Zasz are unlike anything we have faced before. These Dark Templar radiate energies that are much like my own, and it is by these energies that they have caused me harm.

(정신체, 대군주를 그곳에 위치시켜라. 그 위치에 머무르도록 하라.)

(케리건과 제라툴이 처음으로 대면한다.)

케리건 : Once again, I grow tired of slaughtering your servants. Have the mighty Templar lost their infallible courage?
(잘 알겠지만, 너희 부하들을 학살하는 것도 이제 지겹다. 위대한 기사 나으리께선 용기를 잃어버리신 건가?)

제라툴 : Well spoken, Concubine of the Zerg. But though we strike at you from the shadows, do not think that we lack the courage to stand in the light. You would do well to abandon this attack.

13 아이어 침공(The Invasion Of Aiur)

Tassadar and the Dark Templar Zeratul survived Kerrigan's vicious attacks, but their Templar armies have been decimated. Kerrigan, left behind to hunt down and eradicate the remaining Protoss warriors, begins to scour the burning wastelands of Char for her elusive prey. Meanwhile, the entirety of the extended Zerg Swarm teleported through space-time and began its long awaited invasion of the hated Protoss Homeworld of Aiur.

태사다르와 암흑 기사 제라툴은 케리건의 사악한 공격에서 살아남았지만, 많은 기사단들이 죽었다. 케리건은 남아있는 프로토스 전사들을 사냥하고 차 행성의 불타는 황무지에서 교묘히 빠져나가려는 먹이감을 쫓기 시작했다. 한편 불어난 저그 군단은 시공간을 넘어 차원 이동을 시도하고, 증오했던 프로토스의 고향 아이어로의 침공을 시작한다.

초월체 : Go now, my Cerebrate. Secure the crystals, and bring swift wrath to all who oppose the Swarm!

다고스 : Cerebrate, the Khadarin Crystals are now in our possession. Now, all shall tremble before the might of the Swarms.

초월체 : You have done well, my Cerebrate. The Protoss can do nothing but flee before the onslaught of the Swarm. But now you must assault one final site before our conquest is assured.
(아주 잘 해주었다, 나의 정신체여. 프로토스는 아무 저항도 못한 채 군단에게서 도망쳐야 할 것이다. 다만 완벽한 정복을 위해서는 마지막 한 곳을 급습해야 한다.)

초월체 : Behold, there is a temple, not far from here, that lies upon ground must hallowed. Though I have born witness to the passing of countless millennia, the temple which you must assault is older by far. For it was constructed by my creators, the Xel'Naga, and it marks the site where the Xel'Naga first set foot upon Aiur.
(보아라, 여기서 멀지 않은 곳에, 가장 신성한 땅에 세워진 사원이 있다. 내가 태어나고 영겁의 세월의 흐름을 지켜보았지만, 우리가 공격할 사원은 그보다 더 오래된 것이다. 나의 창조자 젤나가에 의해 만들어졌고 젤나가가 아이어에 첫 발을 내딛은 곳임을 상징한다.)

다고스 : Cerebrate, the Protoss have launched a final offensive to keep us form the ruins. You must hold them at bay for awhile longer!
(정신체, 프로토스가 우리를 폐허에서 몰아내기 위해서 마지막 공격을 시작했다. 그 곳에서 좀 더 버텨줘야 한다!)

(이후 케이다린 수정을 가진 일벌레가 생성되며 목표가 수정)

(프로토스의 사원을 파괴하고 케이다린 수정을 신호기에 갖다놓는다)

초월체 : Now shall the events set into motion so long ago be made complete. For the Protoss, too, were created by the Xel'Naga. They were the first creation, gifted with a purity of form. And we were the second creation, blessed with a purity of essence. Indeed, our two species are but opposite facets of a greater whole. Soon shall our two races be made as one. Thenceforth shall all feel the wrath of the eternal Swarm... For the hour of judgement is come!
(드디어, 오래 전부터 시작해 온 일을 끝낼 때가 되었다. 프로토스 역시 젤나가에 의해 창조되었다. 그들은 첫 번째로 창조되었으며 형태의 순수함을 받았지. 그리고 우리는 두 번째 창조물로서 정수의 순수함을 받았다. 우리 두 종족은 위대한 하나의 양면이니. 곧 두 종족은 하나가 되리라. 그 때부터 모두가 영원한 군단의 분노를 느끼게 될 것이다. 심판의 시간이 도래했도다.)
