1 개요

엘튼 존의 컴필레이션 앨범. 1970년부터 2006년까지의 히트곡들을 담았고, 세계적으로 17개의 다른 버전으로 발매되었다. 거기다 DVD도 수록되어 라이브 영상들과 뮤직비디오들이 수록되었다.

의외라면, 당시 싱글로 발매되었음에 불구하고 차트에 진입되지 못한 2006년작 "Tinderbox"도 수록했다는 점이다. 제외되지 않고 모든 나라판에 수록되었고, 전부 마지막 트랙으로 수록되었다. 그리고 벨기에판에선 1번 트랙으로 1981년작 "Just Like Belgium"을 수록하기도 했다. 당시 어느 나라에서 히트친 곡은 아니지만, 벨기에에 대한 내용을 담은 곡이다 보니 벨기에판에서 1번 트랙으로 특별히 수록 된 것이다.^[1]

이 앨범은 2007년 3월 26일에 발매되었고, 엘튼 존의 생일 바로 다음 날에 발매되었다. 사실 이 앨범은 엘튼 존의 60번째 생일을 축하하기 위해 발매된 컴필레이션 앨범이라서 이전 컴필레이션 앨범들에 비해 화려한 표지나 제목을 저렇게 정했다는 이유를 확연히 알 수 있다. 그 결과 세계적으로 꽤 크게 성공했고, 영국 2위, 덴마크 1위, 빌보드 200 차트 9위 등 여러 국가에서 차트 10위 안에 진입되었다. 2010년 2월, 영국에서 300,000장이 팔렸고, 미국에선 2008년 10월에 500,000장으로 골드를 기록, 2014년 11월에 1,000,000장으로 기록해 플래티넘을 기록했다.
